POP THE BUBBLE

I created this project to raise awareness of homelessness in Birmingham among Samford students, but along the way, I realized just how unaware I was. While I felt compassion for those experiencing homelessness, it rarely led me to action—and this broke my heart.

This project documents my journey to better understand what it is like to be homeless in Birmingham and how we at Samford can help. Through creating a zine, posters, postcards, and social media content—and engaging with organizations and individuals experiencing homelessness—I sought to highlight their humanity and explore meaningful ways we can support them.

I chose not to use any images of people experiencing homelessness, to honor their privacy and humanity. This project invites us to step outside our bubble and ask:

How can we love our neighbors better?
